Listen to Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock on iHeartRadio

DJ EZ Rock of the hip-hop duo Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock has reportedly passed away.

Rob Base took to social media to announce the death of his long-time partner, writing "R.I.P. Skip." He also called him both a friend and his brother.

With Rob Base, DJ E-Z Rock -- born Rodney "Skip" Bryce -- created the hit 1988 song "It Takes Two" from their album of the same name.  The pair went on to release two other albums.

While details of E-Z Rock's death are scarce, it didn't take long for the hip-hop world to send their condolences via social media.

On Twitter, Biz Markie wrote that the deejay will "truly be missed."

R.A. The Rugged Man, Kool Keith and Funkmaster Flex also posted their responses to the news of E-Z Rock's apparent death.
