Are You Social Distancing the RIGHT Way?

With the Coronavirus spreading like a wildfire throughout VA, the term "Social Distance" is being used now more than ever, but what is it? It depends on who you ask. According to the Center for Disease Control, it's simply keeping gatherings to a MAXIMUM of 50 people. I think it's safe to say we've made our own social distancing rules.

  1. Gimme six feet! - Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet between you and other people. This helps minimize the risk of contacting any viruses...like the Coronavirus
  2. NO hugs
  3. NO hand shakes
  4. At this point, no elbow bumps either.

In VA, gatherings of more than 100 people are officially banned. Restaurants, gyms and theaters can no longer serve more than 10 customers at a time and as of this posting, Governor Northam is URGING Virginia citizens to not gather in groups of more than 10, but don't be surprised if this is made mandatory pretty soon. People 65 and older are urged to self-quarantine.

Although minimizing contact with anyone is the goal, it's still safe to go outside, get fresh air and even walk your pet. Just make sure whatever you touch, you wipe down and wash your hands as much as possible.

These are just some basic social distancing rules though. What are some of your best practices?
