LL Cool J Tests Positive For COVID

Looks like LL Cool J will be bringing in the new year at home after he has confirmed he tested positive for COVID.

He was scheduled to perform during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest this Friday but has had to drop out to prevent the spread. In a statement to PEOPLE, he says "I know it's disappointing to the millions of fans but my test came back positive for COVID, which means I'll no longer be able to perform as scheduled at NYRE."

"We were ready and I was really looking forward to ringing in 2022 in my hometown in a special way, but for now I wish everyone a healthy and happy New Year. The best is yet to come!" he added.

The NYE tradition, which typically brings out over 60k people, has been scaled down and only 15k attendees will be allowed. You can also cancel singer Chloe off that list as she has voluntarily dropped out of performing at NYRE as well.

Your safest bet is to just bring in 2022 from the comfort of your couch. There's nothing like preventing the spread of COVID by just saying in the house.
