Peace to the legend DJ Rob Swift. He issued this challenge. A challenge is a "challenge"...it's not gonna be perfect but in a strive for to become better. #practicemakespermanent ITS TIME for skratchers to leave their skratch comfort zones. DJs too. Oh, what? Y'all thought y'all were exempt? A lot of y'all DJ niggas don't practice vigorously enough. Yet, you wanna jump on dudes timelines doing the same "Transform" scratch over a Biggie instrumental. Whether you're a skratcher or a DJ, your world won't fall apart by surrendering yourselves to a new scratch sound. On the contrary, venture out of your comfort zone and it's my promise to you that your most funkiest and technical "skratch"/scratch patterns will be discovered outside of that safe place your creativity resides in.Here are the rules:1. Skratchers and DJs have 48 HOURS to post a video of themselves performing a series of scratches using the word "It's..." from Hashim's "It's Time". I chose the word "It's" because it's short and quick. Thus, forcing you to approach your scratches differently than you would with the sound "Ahhh", which is much longer and easier to manipulate. You are allowed one solo with the word "...Time" if you want to flex some scratch techniques with a longer sound. *Just be careful. Unlike the sound "Ahhh", the "...Time" has drums underneath it so if you lack precision, your scratches will sound like noise.2. Cuts are to be executed on both left and right hands for a relatively equal amount of time. WARNING: Contestants who post videos of themselves favoring their dominant hand will be disqualified.3. Skratchers and DJs are expected to rock a total of 6 scratch solos. Three with their left hand and 3 with their right. This will test your level of scratch symmetry.4. The video must be a total of 4 minutes. When you're scratching over a beat like "It's Time", 4 minutes could feel like a lifetime. Especially when you haven't trained your less dominant hand. Will you quite after one solo on your weak hand or get through the frustration and make it to the end of the 4 minutes?5. No backspinning or "Beat Juggling" is allowed. This is a scratching challenge.DISCLAIMER: If you're one of them sensitive millennial skratchers/DJs that need to be coddled and post videos strictly for LIKES or approval from your social media friends, chances are this challenge ain't for you bro so keep it moving. Act like you never came across this thread cause my posts be polarizing and I don't want your feelings gettin' hurt or any shit like that. Only enter this challenge if you're ready. We separating the men from the boys for the next two days!
