Hurricane Isaias [pr: ess-ah-EE-ahs] made landfall in North Carolina late Monday night with heavy storm surge, winds, rainfall and tornadoes.
The good news is that it's expected to weaken as it moves up the East Coast on Tuesday and up to New England early Wednesday.
The storm, which was upgraded to a hurricane, made landfall around Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina at 11:10 p.m. with winds blowing up to 85 miles per hour.
Storm surge flooding occurred on Oak Island, North Carolina and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Monday night with water levels four-and-half feet about the normal tide level. (The Weather Channel)
