King’s Fork High School English teacher Lori Starling wanted to inspire her students to understand the power of words.
In March, she agreed to cut off her hair if the students could raise $500 to help fight childhood cancer. Starling directed the students to launch a letter writing campaign and raise the money by the start of spring break.
The students made short work of the challenge.
“Now we’re at $551, and I’m shaving my head as a show of solidarity,” Starling said.
