Pharrell Williams

Pharrell Williams was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia on April 5, 1973. He is a rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, fashion designer, one-half of the production duo The Neptunes (alongside Chad Hugo) and one-third of the group N.E.R.D.(alongside Hugo and Shay Haley). Williams attended Princess Anne High School where he played in the school band and at one point, entered a high school talent show where he and his crew were discovered by Teddy Riley. After graduating, the group signed with Riley and Pharrell helped produce Wreckx-N-Effect’s 1992 hit “Rump Shaker.”

After that point, Pharrell’s career in R&B and Hip-Hop music was born and he soon began crafting hits for some of the biggest names in music, whether it was as part of the Neptunes, N.E.R.D., or on his own.

And since that point, Williams has won ten Grammy Awards, became a two-time Academy Award nominee, has created a multimedia collective I am OTHER, has solidified himself in the fashion world through Billionaire Boys Club and a partnership with Adidas, has ventured into TV as a coach on The Voice, has delved into the world of film creating scores for movies & co-producing the movie ‘Hidden Figures’, and has most recently created the music and cultural festival “Something In The Water.”

Yes, there is indeed something in the water down here, and lucky for us, Pharrell Williams has an insatiable thirst.
