Okay okay, it's not THAT serious, but recently Equifax settled a $425 mil lawsuit after 147 milliion consumers personal information were involved in a data breach back in 2017. Names, addresses, social security numbers were all leaked. Now it's time for Equifax to pay up and they are doing so by offering credit monitoring for 10 years OR you can get a $125 check/prepaid card and keep a close eye on your own credit. I personally have my own credit monitoring (which caught my info that was breached btw), so I opted for the check.
