[BREAKING] Military Bases Under Attack in Iraq

[Update 1]: The number of rockets has been confirmed to be more than a dozen.

Following an airstrike ordered by President Trump, Iran has taken credit for the attack on base housing US troops.

It's been reported at least 10 rockets have hit al-Asad airbase in Iraq. It's being said these ballistic missiles were launched from Iran.

On January 2nd, considered to be one of Iran's most powerful figures, Qassim Soleimani was killed in airstrike ordered by President Trump. In a statement released by the Pentagon, they say "General Soleimani was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region. General Soleimani and his Quds Force were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American and coalition service member and the wounding of thousands more."

The Department of Defense says "The strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans." They continued with "The United States will continue to take all necessary action to protect our people and our interests wherever they are around the world.

According to President Trump, this airstrike was intended to prevent any war. However, it is clear Iran plans to retaliate.

We'll keep you updated. Prayers to our troops serving our country.
