Despite the record breaking number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and unfortunately deaths, Gov. Cooper announced in his press conference, North Carolina schools will be open for both in person and virtual learning during this pandemic.
He also indicated in his press conference as well as Twitter that this is OPTIONAL and at the school districts discretion.
He also advised North Carolina will extend its stay in the Safer At Home Phase 2 due to the high number which he indicated are "steady." “Our virus trends are not spiking like some other states. We have hospital capacity and our percent positive is still high but it’s steady. However, our numbers are still troubling and they could jump higher in the blink of an eye,” Cooper said.
