Law Enforcement Finally Gives Their Version of Jacob Blake Shooting

It's been four days.

Sunday evening in Kenosha, Wisconsin Jacob Blake was shot in the back between seven and eight times at close range. After multiple nights of riots, looting, and protesting officers are finally telling their version of what really happened that day. Officers arrived on a domestic dispute call. Once on scene, they say they attempted to arrest Jacob Blake and even tried deploying a taser, but it was unsuccessful. In the viral video, we can see Blake walking around the front of his car and opening the drivers side door. His kids were in this vehicle unfortunately and watched this all go down. Upon opening the drivers side door, Officer Rusten Sheskey opens fire seven times while pulling Blake back by his shirt. No other officer opened fire.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, Jacob Blake has admitted to having a knife in his possession. Law Enforcement officers say they recovered a knife from the scene as well.

Protests Erupt After Kenosha, WI Police Shoot Black Man 7 Times In The Back

Unfortunately, many questions still remain unanswered:

  • WHY seven times?
  • WHY seven times with little kids just feet away?
  • WHAT led to the shooting?
  • WHY were guns drawn prior to even reaching the alleged knife in the floorboard of his vehicle?
  • WHY, after multiple days of riots and looting and protesting, did it take this long to get a statement?

And one more, WHY is Jacob Blake currently handcuffed to his hospital bed, according to his father, despite being paralyzed from the waist down?
