After news broke that Bill Cosby's sec conviction was overturned and he was freed immediately, Phylicia Rashad took to social media to rejoice. Naturally, there's a lot of backlash that followed as fans of Phylicia (which are likely FORMER fans of Cosby) tried to understand how/why she's supporting someone with such serious accusations.
It's important to note his sex convictions were overturned NOT because he is innocent, but because an agreement with a previous prosecutor prevented him from being charged in the case. According to the justices, overturning the conviction and barring any further prosecution "is the only remedy that comports with society’s reasonable expectations of its elected prosecutors and our criminal justice system.”
