President Biden Extends Student Loan Freeze

You can scratch February 1, 2022, off of your calendar as repayment day because the Biden Administration has extended the pause on federal student loan repayments until May 1, 2022.

This extension is estimated to save Americans up to five billion dollars per month. This also may be needed as the new variant, Omicron, looms over the nation.

If you had any hopes of President Biden canceling all student loan debt, he has stated he does not have the executive authority to cancel everyone's student loan debt but would support canceling up to $10,000 in student loans if the bill made it to the oval office.
